Pathways for Children Seeks Local Business and Community Support for Spring Book Drive

[March 26, 2025] Gloucester, MA — Pathways for Children, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting over 350 children and families across Essex County, is seeking assistance from local businesses and community members for an upcoming Book Drive in April. The drive aims to collect new books for children ages 1-12, promoting literacy and the joy of reading within the community.

Pathways for Children is committed to fostering intellectual, social, and emotional growth in young people through their various educational programs and services. As part of these efforts, Pathways will host its semiannual book fairs at their locations in Beverly, Gloucester, and Salem, where each child will receive three books to take home and enjoy.

To make this possible, the organization is seeking local businesses to host in-office or in-store book drives. The goal is to collect donations of new books from employees, customers, and community members. Participating businesses will receive everything they need to run a successful book drive, including a donation box, flyers, and a QR code that links directly to Pathways' Amazon Wish List for easy and convenient contributions.

"We're excited to partner with local businesses to inspire a love of reading in our community," said Kathy Wilson, Coordinator of Pathways for Children's literacy program. “The involvement of businesses in this initiative enables us to reach more children and provides them with the necessary resources to grow and thrive.”

The book drive will run through the month of April. Participating businesses can choose to set up donation boxes at their locations or encourage employees to contribute through internal drives. This is an opportunity for businesses to make a meaningful impact while supporting a cause that directly benefits local children.
