New CPR/AED, First Aid, and Child and Babysitting Safety classes at Ipswich Family YMCA

To support our mission for healthy living and social responsibility, the Ipswich Family YMCA has added NEW CPR/AED, First Aid, and Child and Babysitting Safety classes which are open to the community.

Our CPR classes cover caring for people of all ages (infant through adult) and teach people how to call for help in an emergency, perform chest compressions, perform rescue breathing, use an AED, and provide choking care. Perfect for individuals and those needing a CPR certification as a job requirement. We also offer Basic Life Support classes for Lifeguards, healthcare workers, and other professional rescuers.

Our First Aid classes provide TWO certifications, for Adult and also Pediatric First Aid. The course covers control of bleeding, heart attack and stroke care, administering Naloxone, and caring for minor injuries.

Back by popular demand, we are offering Child and Babysitting Safety classes! This class is aimed at adolescents ages 11-16 to prepare for their first babysitting or childcare job. In the class, we cover how to build a first resume, personal safety on the job, and proper play, feeding, and napping for young children.
