The Ipswich Local News is hiring a Finance & Development Coordinator

We have a part-time (approximately 15 hours per week) opening for a detail-oriented person with back-office finance experience to coordinate bank deposits, accounts payable, receivables and our donor management system.

The ideal candidate is familiar with the area (Ipswich and Rowley especially); loves what we do as a community nonprofit news outlet; is competent with Quick Books software, has experience in back-office invoicing and billing, and has some familiarity with nonprofit donor management systems.

Compensation: $30 - $35 per hour, depending on experience

Responsibilities include:

  • Collecting mail from the post office box
  • Making bank deposits
  • Reconciling advertising schedules and prices with actual print and online ads
  • Coordinating with our advertising salesperson to ensure accurate billing
  • Billing and collecting from advertisers using Quick Books
  • Ensuring Quick Books is properly synchronized with our donor management system
  • Preparing acknowledgement correspondence for donors
Experience: 1-3 years of experience with Quick Books is required. Experience with nonprofit donor management systems is preferred. A collaborative and friendly style is important, as you will work with the Executive Director, CFO and Business Partnership Manager.

Flexibility: While our office is in the heart of Ipswich on North Main Street, most work can be completed remotely.
