The iconic Matthew Swift Gallery Next to Blue River Diamonds is now closed and can be purchased

The iconic Matthew Swift Gallery adjacent to Blue River Diamonds on Main Street has closed after over a decade of representing some of the top artists in Gloucester.  Matthew represented his artists with integrity, kindness and great artistic and historic knowledge.  His reach went far beyond the local and regional markets of the north shore and New England, and extended to representing his artists on an east coast and national basis.  He will be missed by so many as the gallery turned into community space of sorts after sponsoring so many wine and cheese exhibits with artist presentations.  Matthew will be turning the page now and is on to his next phase of this journey we all call life.  Ken Hecht, the owner of the former gallery real estate has stated "A very lucky someone will of course own this space going forward, but I look at it as we are all simply stewards of the building and the space and then we pass it on to the next steward".  Passing on a bit of history and architecture from owner to owner, occupant to occupant...
