2026 Sawyer Free Library Silent & Live Art Auction
Celebrating the Creativity of Cape Ann

GLOUCESTER, MA — The Sawyer Free Library is inviting artists from across Cape Ann and beyond to participate in the 2026 Sawyer Free Library Silent & Live Art Auction, an evening celebrating the region's extraordinary artistic talent while supporting the completion of the Library's Building Renovation Campaign.

The event will take place on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Sawyer Free Library, 2 Dale Avenue in Gloucester, and will feature both silent and live auctions showcasing original works by local and regional artists.

Artists are now invited to submit their work for consideration. Online registration is open from August 1 through September 14, 2026. All submissions will be reviewed by the Art Auction Committee, and selected artists will be notified following the jury review process.

"We are thrilled to once again celebrate the remarkable creativity of Cape Ann while bringing our community together to support the Sawyer Free Library," said Christine Armstrong, Development Director. "The 2024 Art Auction demonstrated the incredible generosity of our local artists, and we're excited to build on that success with an even more inspiring event in 2026."

Proceeds from the auction will help complete the Sawyer Free Library Building Renovation
Campaign, ensuring the Library continues to serve as a welcoming center for learning, creativity, and community for generations to come.

The Library welcomes submissions in a variety of media, including painting, photography, sculpture, ceramics, fiber arts, mixed media, jewelry, woodworking, and other original works. Both returning and first-time artists are encouraged to participate.

Selected artwork should be delivered to the Community Room at the Sawyer Free Library on Tuesday, September 15, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
