LOGAN LA RUE TO DIRECT ROCKPORT LEGION BAND
The Rockport Legion Band has selected Logan LaRue as its 16th Music Director its 93rd year. Mr. LaRue is the Director of the Rockport Middle and High School Bands. He was part of a rigorous selection process and conducting audition. He will direct the band in weekly rehearsals and be responsible for the presentation of many Sunday evening concerts at the Back Beach bandstand this summer, overlooking Rockport Sandy Bay. Logan replaces long-time Director Bob Rick, who passed away earlier this year. As a Cape Ann community band, drawing volunteer musicians from Boston’s Northshore, the 2025 season will be the 93rd anniversary season providing free concerts by the Rockport Legion Band.
Logan LaRue brings a solid knowledge of band repertoire and a commitment to community to the podium. He is excited to be part of the band’s future and brings a youthful touch to the band’s family-oriented concerts. “I am thrilled to be chosen to work with this terrific legacy band. I look forward to serving the band and the community here in Rockport,” said LaRue. He is a native of Southern California and a graduate of Arizona State University. He is in his second-year teaching in the Rockport Public Schools and seeks to “make ties across the Cape Ann community outside of the classroom.”
The Rockport Legion Band concerts are free, weekly programs. For more information, please visit www.rockportlegionband.org or email info@rockportlegionband.org
