Description
New York Style Jazz in a Gloucester Spot………
Jazz IS a Standard!
Jazz standards that are “cool”, that are “hot” and really happening. With more than 3 decades of singing professionally between them, Judith and Henry each bring their own unique style and interpretation to the great jazz canon of standards. Standards once sung by jazz giants like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Carmen McCrae, Sarah Vaughn, Dinah Washington, Nancy Wilson, Joe Williams, Mel Torme, Frank Sinatra, Nate “King” Cole and the like; and written by such amazing composers/lyricists as “Duke” Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, Cole Porter, George and Ira Gershwin, and Johnny Mercer to name a few. Come kick back at a great spot, The Folklore Theatre Company, 169 Main St. in downtown Gloucester, MA on Saturday night, November 11th. Jazz vocalists Judith Murray and Henry Allen with pianist Steve Heck, bassist Todd Baker and drummer Glen Watson will interpret those amazing jazz standards. Again, jazz is hot, jazz is cool, and so it’s a win-win! The music happens at 8 o’clock. Be there to hear those jazz interpretations that will knock your socks off! Admission at the door is $20 per person. Advance tickets recommended at www.FolkloreTheatre.Company/Music.
