Description
This seminar introduces a holistic approach to support hearing wellness and treat hearing loss. We call it WHOLEHearing. Hearing wellness is a lifelong concern that begins with birth. If you enjoy exceptional hearing, WHOLEHearing will help you protect and conserve your hearing. If you are experiencing hearing loss or tinnitus, WHOLEHearing incorporates a broad spectrum of treatment options and lifestyle interventions that support and improve your ability to hear and interpret sound.
We hear with our ears, but we understand what we hear with our brains. Most hearing loss involves some kind of mix of loss in ear sensitivity to sound and changes to the auditory nervous system and brain. In fact, it is estimated that about 30% of hearing loss is "hidden hearing loss". This is the component of hearing loss associated with changes to the auditory system that do not show on the hearing test audiogram. It is up to the hearing healthcare professional to observe each person's hearing symptoms and recommend treatment options, and program hearing aids accordingly. Moreover, it is far better to prevent hearing loss before it happens. Hearing preservation and protection are important components to our WHOLEHearing approach. It all begins with a professional hearing evaluation.
