"Signature and Creativity in Design and Composition" -- The second Lecture in the five lecture Series will be given by Rockporter and National Academician Tom Nicholas, on Sunday, July 6th at 3:30 p.m.
Painting professionally for over 40 years, Nicholas has, as described by the venerable Guild of Boston Artists, " attained an esteemed position as one of the country's most widely recognized landscape painters" and one of the youngest members ever elected to the National Academy of Design. He has painted on location in many of the world's most magnificent settings garnering over 200 awards with his plein air work.
His masterful paintings in watercolor and oil are noted for their elegant composition, attention to fine detail and romantic sensibility. Drawing from the depth and breadth of his experience, Nicholas will discuss his philosophy that the signature and creativity of the artist is most revealed through his approach to design and composition.
