The Second Saturday of each month, the Cape Ann Museum is free for all Cape Ann Residents. Visitors of all ages are invited to head to the CAM Studio during their visit to participate in a new art project.??
In the 19th century, Gloucester's immigrants from Finland and Sweden came to Cape Ann to work in the quarries. They settled primarily in Gloucester’s Lanesville neighborhood and in Rockport becoming an integral part of the community and bringing with them cultural traditions from Scandinavia. Their presence and influence continue to contribute to the vibrancy of Cape Ann today!??
Join CAM Educators in the CAM Studio to make a traditional Swedish Dala horse and a Finnish Star. Then, join us at 11:00 a.m. for a Scandinavian inspired story time.
Can’t make this date? No problem!?
This activity will be available in the CAM Studio for the month of January. The CAM Studio is open to the public daily from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. unless there is a school program or class happening. The monthly activity is included with the price of admission, children under 18 are always free. No reservations necessary. Come, create, and look around because Museums are for kids!??
