Annual Bach Birthday Concert in Gloucester's Historic Meetinghouse
On Saturday, March 21 at 7:30pm the Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation presents Brandenburg and Beyond, a neo-baroque ensemble featuring a combination of a 17th century style Flemish harpsichord, flute, oboe, and strings, performing our annual Bach Birthday Concert in the Gloucester Unitarian Universalist Church, located at the corner of Church and Middle Streets since 1806.
The program entitled ‘Bach and His Sons’ will include:
Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 by J.S. Bach
Prelude and Fugue in C Minor for Organ by J.S. Bach
Selections from the Cello Suites by J.S. Bach
Concerto for Flute and Strings in D Minor by C.P.E. Bach
The Short Tempered Klavier by P.D.Q. Bach - arranged for this occasion and unique instrumentation by Chris Gantner
Tickets are available at the door and in advance (recommended) with more info at www.gloucestermeetinghouse.org General $30, Students $10, under 12 free. Parking is available on the green, entered between the granite pillars at 50 Middle Street, and in lots around the Historic District. The side entrance at 10 Church Street offers an elevator for accessibility if needed.
