Description
Captain George Grimes, a licensed master mariner, has extensive seagoing experience navigating steam, motor, towing, and auxiliary sail-training vessels. He grew up in Rockport, Massachusetts, where he now lives with his wife, Sally, and his golden retriever, Sydney. He will speak about his true sea experiences interspersed with interesting descriptions of life on board vessels of all kinds, especially the ''break bulk freighter.'' Captain Grimes is author of ''Water Under the Keel'', a book which spans a lifetime of adventures and experiences upon and around the sea. Captain Grimes builds upon an ancestral background of sea captains and a rich childhood near the ocean as he paints the portrait of his association with the sea. Museum members free. Non-Members $8. Complimentary refreshments.
