Allan Houle of Manchester Ace Hardware is the Winner of the 'Small Business Person of the Year' from Manchester-by-the-Sea. Please join the Greater Cape Ann Chamber in celebrating his win at Cala's Restaurant.
About Allan
Allan Houle’s children will be the first to tell you that he is a true believer in the value of hard work, education, and community. Now the owner and operator of Manchester Ace Hardware in Manchester-by-the-Sea and Winer Bros. Hardware in Salem, he graduated from St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, Canada, where he played for their renowned football team, the X-Men. He began his career working retail in his hometown of Lawrence, at White Street Paint, where he first learned what it really means to provide good customer service and why it matters so much. He then spent years on the road selling industrial tools, developing a knack for building client relationships, before taking on the challenge of small business ownership with Winer Bros. in 1989, followed by the Manchester-by-the-Sea store in 2013. Throughout his career, he has worked tirelessly to contribute to his local business communities and build strong relationships with his customers. He lives in Beverly with his wife Deborah Baker, and is a dedicated husband, father of three, and grandfather of four.
