Comedian, commentator and founder of Humor for Humanity, Jimmy Tingle comes to Windhover’s outdoor stage, mixing his funniest comedic hits and newest, post pandemic bits, to deliver the humor, hope and humanity the world so desperately needs in 2022. 

Jimmy will take audiences on a hilarious and soul-searching journey from his Cambridge roots as an aspiring comic and street performer during the 1980s to the Tonight Show, 60 Minutes II, Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and a run for LT Governor of Massachusetts. Jimmy Tingle will speak to the challenges of the day with comedy, compassion and common sense while delivering a funny, passionate, and purpose-driven tour de force performance.

If laughter is the best medicine, then Jimmy Tingle is the Surgeon General of political humor. He will make you laugh; make you think and make you feel better, just what the doctor ordered.

ABOUT JIMMY TINGLE

He has worked as a humorist and commentator for 60 Minutes II and MSNBC and has appeared on The Tonight Show, CNN, Conan O’Brien, Fresh Air with Terry Gross and in his own HBO half-hour comedy special. Most recently, he made a cameo appearance in Veep on HBO. In January 2022, Jimmy launched his newest talk show and podcast The Jimmy Tingle Show where he interviews guests from the worlds of comedy, politics and non-profit organizations on their passion, process and drive for excellence in their respective fields.

Theatrical credits include writing, performing and producing several one-person shows including Uncommon Sense; Jimmy Tingle for President – The Funniest campaign in History and Jimmy Tingle’s American Dream. He has appeared in several documentary films including Damned in the USA; America with the Top Down; When Stand up Stood Out; Call Me Lucky directed by Bobcat Goldthwait and Jimmy Tingle’s American Dream which Jimmy wrote and produced. It was directed by Vincent Straggas. Feature film work includes Next Stop Wonderland; Boondock Saints; Head of State starring Chris Rock; and Clear History starring Larry David.

Tingle has the rare distinction of winning Boston Magazine’s “Best of Boston” twice in the “stand-up comedy” category and once for “best alternative theater” as the producer and artistic director of Jimmy Tingle’s OFF-BROADWAY Theater in Somerville.
