Description
The Sawyer Free Library Annual Art Auction will be a fun evening filled with incredible art and good friends all coming together to celebrate and support their public library. The event will begin at 6 pm with a preview party with refreshments, music by Janine Lynch and a chance to get a last glimpse at the art up for sale. The Live Auction will then begin at 7 pm, led by auctioneer Jack Good. The evening is open and free to the public to attend and enjoy.
There are 67 exceptional quality works including paintings, drawings, and mixed media all generously donated by talented artists from throughout the Cape Ann community. The artwork which is in varying sizes and mediums is currently on display in the Matz Gallery, located in the main lobby of the Sawyer Free Library on Dale Avenue in Gloucester. Bidding books are available through September 30 in the Gallery, and the public is encouraged to preview the art and make a silent bid before the event. Guests who attend the party will have a chance to outbid the silent auction bidders during the Live Auction, making it yet another reason to attend the event.
The funds support the purchase of art books for the Library’s collection; art museum passes that are made available to the community and a variety of special programs offered throughout the year for children, teens, and adults.
