Borgoluce Lampo Prosecco Brut, NV, Alc. 11.5%
Varietals: Glera, Tasting: This bubbly stands out for its vivacious, fine perlage and brilliant, yellow color. Lampo, a young, fresh sparkling wine with an elegant taste and well-orchestrated aromas. Great bubbles and high acidity with apple, lemon, yeast and cheese on palate. The ideal aperitif and toast for all special occasions! Pairs Well: Shellfish, Vegetarian, Appetizers and Snacks, Apertif,… $17.99
Sincerely Sauvignon Blanc, So. Africa, Western Cape, 2018, Alc. 13%, Varietals: Sauvignon Blanc, Tasting: Very pale yellow with a green tinge. Subtle aromas of citrus peel, gooseberry and tarragon. Juicy and lively but supple too, offering modest complexity and density but an easygoing subtle sweetness to its brisk white fruit and citrus flavors. Finishes firm and salty, with decent persistence. Pairs Well: Shellfish , Vegetarian, Goat cheese…. $14.99
Christina Ascheri, Gavi di Gavi, Piedmont, It., 2019, Alc. 13.5% Varietals: Cortese
Tasting: Notable from Gavi…pale straw colour, citrus nose with hints of peach. Crisp dry lemon and grapefruit on the palate. A nice sharpness about it. Herbaceous notes. Medium body, dry, crisp. Citrus (lemon, tangerine) with almond and stone. A great seafood starter. Pairs Well: Pasta, Shellfish, Appetizers & Snacks, Lean Fish, Cured Meats….$19.99
La Pepie, Cabernet Franc, Louis Dressner Wines, Loire Valley, Fr, 2020 certified organic, 13.5% Varietals: Cabernet Franc, Tasting: There was a very light nose of cranberry and tart, red fruit with hints of fresh white pepper. In the mouth this wine had textured and lively acidity, tart dry red fruit, and a ripe, wood polish note. Its hard to describe but there was a nice contrast to the ripe flavors and dryness of the wines. Pairs Well: butterflied leg of lamb, Charcuterie (terrines / pates ), tuna tartare, goats cheese, young pecorino… $18.99
Carpineto Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Toscana, 2016, Alc. 13.5%
Varietals: Sangiovese (mainly), Canaiolo, Tasting: This beauty is rich and ripe, almost Brunello in style. Notes of black cherry, sandalwood, smoked meat, and a touch of violets. It’s full in body, the biggest wine out of this set. The wood is integrated really well here. The wine is round and plush before the supple tannins add some grip on the backend. Pairs Well: Grilled Beef, Game ( deer/ vernon), Grilled Chicken Thighs…. $35.99
Le Pigeoulet Vaucluse, So. Rhone Valley, Fr., a Kermit Lynch Selection, 2019, Alc. 14.1
Varietals: Blend: 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 5% Carignan, 5% Cinsault, practicing organic farming, Tasting: A floral expression with roses and violets, dusty tannins and cured meats. The structure is sturdy with density and freshness, herbs, licorice and blackberries. Oak tannins show through with 50% of the wine aged in oak foudres for 18 months. Pairs Well: works nicely with summer fare: grilled fish, roast chicken, grilled vegetables. The life of the party at any cookout, picnic, impromptu gathering…. $21.99
