Description
Life Seasons Ceremonies has organized a series of evenings to explore the death positive philosophy and trends in death care choices.
The death positive movement encourages people to speak openly about death and dying. Death positivity aims to increase understanding of death through education, art and openness about the realities everyone faces at the end of our lives.
There will be a Death Cafe on April 4 and again on May 2. At a Death Cafe people gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death. The objective is 'to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives'. It is offered as a self-directed adult discussion group with no agenda and no objectives.
A Death Cafe not a support group nor a venue for bereavement. It is an opportunity to explore thoughts, feelings and questions about death in an open, non-judgmental setting.
A general information presentation about home funerals and green burials will be offered on on April 25. On May 16 the presentation will focus on the roles and services of death doulas, funeral guides and life-cycle celebrants.
All are welcome. There is no requirement to attend all of the events.
