Cape Ann Makers Market (CAMM) is excited to announce their second Summer Maker Market event will be held at Ocean Alliance, located at the iconic former Tarr and Wonson Paint Manufactory on Rocky Neck, on Thursday, August 26, from 4 to 8 p.m.
The market event will feature many new Cape Ann Artisans, Crafters & Makers who were not at the previous July event. Overall, 30 local makers will be their offering nature and coastal inspired handmade art and crafts, including jewelry, metalsmithing, pottery, sculpture, painting, photography, woodworking, fiber arts, candles, hand harvested artisanal sea salts, specialty jams, natural body care and much more.
The August 19 market also includes the “I Am More: Massachusetts“ exhibit by Gloucester portrait artist, Amy Kerr, showcasing 20 new portraits and essays of individuals from around the state.
LobsterRoller, a new Gloucester based food truck, will be serving up fresh sourced lobster rolls and clam chowder while it lasts, and several local musicians will be performing live throughout the event.
In conjunction with the Culture Splash Thursday events by Rocky Neck Cultural District and Harbortown Cultural District, Ocean Alliance will also have information for visitors about their whale research, marine conservation work, and the restoration project at the historic paint factory as well as well as featured products for sale.
Admission is free. Trolleys and water shuttles to and from downtown Gloucester and Rocky Neck will be available and also free.
CAMM is dedicated to celebrating our makers from Gloucester, Essex, Manchester-by-the-Sea and Rockport, who strive to create high quality hand crafts, original designs, and handmade goods using upcycled and found materials. Events are co-produced by Cape Ann Sea Salt and Hold Fast Company.
