The Museum is located in the heart of downtown Gloucester, one block north from Main Street and one short block east of City Hall and the Sawyer Free Library. Metered parking is available in the public lot across from the Museum.
Gloucester is also easily accessible by public transportation on the MBTA commuter rail, which connects Cape Ann directly with the greater Boston area and beyond. From Boston's North Station, take the Newburyport/Rockport line to the Gloucester stop; the Museum is a short walk (0.4 miles) from the train station.

It's magical in the Museum after hours. CAM invites you to tour the special exhibition, Voicing the Woods: Jeremy Adams, Instrument Maker, join in specially designed games in the Museum's galleries, enjoy a dance performance by artist Dawn Pratson and sip local beverages, including Far From the Tree (Salem), Old Planter's Brewing Co. (Beverly), and Ipswich Ale Brewery (Ipswich), among others. CAMafterhours is for meeting and mingling with other creative adults and experiencing the Museum in a more personal way. If you're not sure if museums are for you, this evening is a fun way to change your mind. ''Dancing the Woods'' Performance Dawn Pratson was an active member of the arts community in and around Cape Ann and Boston from 1983-2003 as a dancer/choreographer, musician, teacher and creative arts therapist. Dawn and friends will perform thematic movements throughout the Museum culminating in a music and dance performance in the exhibition Voicing the Woods. Performers include: Sarah Slifer Swift, Lou Cannon, Carl Thomsen, Reg Edmonds, Cynthia Williams, Sue Ann Willis, Dawn Pratson. Ticket price includes: museum admission, participation in guided games, dance performance, drinks and hor d'oeuvres Parents are encouraged to consider the nearby Cape Ann YMCA's Friday Night Fun! Please call the YMCA at 978-283-0470 to register your child(ren). Open to kids in grades K-5, kids will play games in the gym, swim in the pool and dance the night away! Kids are separated into groups by their age and have staff members to supervise them throughout the evening. FNF runs 5:30-8:30pm, requires parent/guardian drop off and pick off.
