Gail Brenner Nastasia: https://www.gailnastasia.com/ Author of The Fruit You'll Never See Growing up in Gloucester, Massachusetts, a quaint coastal town with a dark underbelly, Gail Brenner Nastasia learned early on that some people mattered and others didn't. As the child of a heroin-addicted mother and an aunt who brokered deals with men who liked to have sex with young girls, Gail was sure she didn't matter. As a result of keeping her secrets and those of her family, she developed a cunning and merciless pill addiction. Despite moving away from Gloucester in her early twenties and becoming an attorney, Gail continued to use drugs while carrying the shame of her childhood. It wasn't until she began to appreciate the value in her criminally-charged clients, those with whom she shared similar struggles, she was finally able to recognize her own worth. This new understanding gave her the courage to put down the drugs, fully embrace her history, and stop hiding. After practicing criminal defense for sixteen years, Gail Brenner Nastasia received her MFA from Emerson College in 2021. She is currently working on her second book while continuing her work in the legal field. Now in recovery from drug addiction for twenty years, Gail's primary goal is to help others to recover from addiction. She is also the proud mother of three. |
Christina Frei https://www.innatemarketinggenius.com/ Author of The Generosity Practice: 40 Days to Unstoppable In 2014, I experienced a career turning point: it was time to change direction but I needed to generate income quickly. Whatever came next, I decided I wanted to operate from my deepest why. I was done only following "good strategies." So I dove off the deep end with my eyes closed, literally. I had created a mindset practice in 2001, and I always knew I could lean on it in an emergency. It was time to use it for all it was worth. I used it (I now call it The Generosity Practice and have created a book to teach it) for hours and hours, until my panicked body relaxed and I knew what was next. The core of this meditative, generative practice is deciding how you want to be in joyful service to your people, to the world, to life itself. What is more energizing than making a real difference? With that as my baseline attitude, I reached out to the right people, and generated lucrative work contracts that I loved. Instead of creating a "good marketing strategy," I focused on being in joyful, generous service. I loved the work - ghost writing, writing coaching, project managing for brilliant entrepreneurs - and I was making good money. |
Melissa Gilbo and Amy Pocsik https://womensbusinessleague.com/our-story/ Founders of the Women's Business League MELISSA I never dreamed I'd be an entrepreneur, building a national brand and helping businesswomen reach their full potential in the process, but here we are! Once I started my entrepreneurial journey, there was no stopping me and that's how I've always been. When I'm passionate about something, I put my whole heart and soul in. That mentality has led me to where I am now CEO and Co-Founder of Women's Business League (WBL). In just a few short years, I helped grow WBL from a local, networking group to an elite network attracting extraordinary businesswomen from across the country. I went from an employee working a job to a heart-centered CEO, building communities, and changing the game for women entrepreneurs everywhere. The crazy thing is I started WBL to generate clients for my insurance job, but instead it nudged me onto my entrepreneurial journey. As an insurance agent, I was boots-on-the ground community-building. I was hustling to build my network and create genuine partnerships. When I met my business partner, Amy Pocsik, we discovered a shared aversion to the impersonal coffee hour networking strategies. We both felt they ignored the most crucial part of building a business, authentic relationships. From that one conversation, WBL was born and so was our mission to create a strong supportive network for women in business through connection, opportunity, and community. As I was growing the WBL community, I found my passion for helping other women succeed in their business. WBL has brought out the marketer, the advocate, and the thought leader in me. On any day, you can find me sharing my journey or the journeys of those around me. These days, you may see my name out there more, but one thing hasn't changed--I am still hustling to build partnerships. I'm just doing it on my terms and helping powerful women in the process. To those women entrepreneurs and dream chasers, I want you to know - it is possible. Everything that you're doing--I've done it, too! Keep showing up. Keep investing in yourself so you can do what you love AND make a living. AMY I love our little corner of the planet north of Boston. It's where my husband and I are raising our family. Family. Friendships. Community. That's what it's all about for me. My credentials are all business and my passion is all people. An engaging conversation is my favorite pastime, and I love nothing more than to hear about other people's goals, dreams, and what makes them tick. And honestly, the crazier, the better. I'm fascinated by so many things: faith, entrepreneurship, writing, business, speaking, creativity, health, philanthropy and psychology, just to name a few. Please, please come say hello at our next event, it would be an honor to meet you in person. |
