Description
The Cape Ann Museum is excited to be participating in August Adventures! This month-long initiative is coordinated and generously supported by the Highland Street Foundation. Cultural institutions across Massachusetts provide one free activity each day for 31 days in August.
As part of this initiative, the Cape Ann Museum will be free and open to the public from 10:00 am - 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 4. Come tour the galleries, visit our community collaborative exhibit The Legacy of the Family-Owned Fishing Vessel to see the art and exquisite ship models celebrating Gloucester’s family owned fishing vessels, and stop in at the CAM Studio where you can learn to make knots and use them to create your own beautiful, wearable art!
Stay into the evening for our weekly Courtyard Concert: Treehouse Quintet from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. Treehouse Quintet, the new rendition of Lanesville's own Treehouse Charlatans, started with a bluegrass base but has grown to include folk melodies, more didgeridoo doodling, and jazz instrumentals. This five-piece band combines old-time favorites with contemporary hits and original music to get you tapping your feet to all sorts of tunes. Treehouse Quintet features Matt Natti (didgeridoo, saw, washboard, vocals), Alex MacLeod (violin, banjo, guitar, dobro, vocals), Matt Lefebvre (bass, guitar), Chris Wagner (guitar, piano, vocals), and Miranda Aisling (piano, guitar, vocals).
