2nd Annual Gloucester Fishtown Horribles "Parade of Trees"
On behalf of the Gloucester Fishtown Horribles Parade I would like to invite you to participate in the 2nd Annual Parade of Trees event. Last year we brought in over 30 decorated trees and are trying to top that with 45 trees this year. If you're wondering what a parade of trees is, it is a fundraising event where community members, businesses, families, and local groups decorate an artificial tree, wreath or something to resemble a tree (such as a ladder, easel, or a creation of your own) with lights, ornaments, tree skirt and gifts that would make your tree stand out. It could be something as simple as a local gift certificate or fit within a theme such as a beach themed tree where all ornaments and gifts revolve around time spent at the beach. We will be having tree setup December 1st at the First Baptist Church on Gloucester Ave from 5-9pm if that time frame doesn’t work for your schedule we would love to work with when you are able.
The next two days (12/2-12/3) the trees will be on view for community members to come buy tickets to try and win their favorite tree. We will also be having other activities such as photos with Santa & Mrs. Claus, cookie decorating, ornament making as well as performances by Gloucester Public School students. Not only is this a great way to help us garnish the funds for next year's 3rd of July parade but it’s also a great way to show your commitment to the community and put your name out there for the public. If you are interested in decorating a tree please register at the link below, for a $20 donation we have trees available, so you do not have to acquire one.
