GLOUCESTER MA — Rocky Neck Art Colony (RNAC) invites the public to join a lively panel discussion accompanying the exhibition Making an Impression: Traditional Techniques, Contemporary Vision on Tuesday, September 15, from 6–7:30 PM at the Cultural Center at Rocky Neck.

The panel will be moderated by Stacy Thomas-Vickory, Dean of Academic Affairs at Montserrat, who was also a participating artist in RNAC's We Hold These Truths exhibition.

Discussion will consider the breadth and vitality of the exhibition, which brings together 19 artists from Cape Ann and beyond, exploring the rich and varied language of printmaking. Through traditional and contemporary approaches, the exhibition presents a diverse range of techniques and perspectives, offering a thoughtfully curated selection that reflects the creative possibilities of the medium today.

The panel discussion will expand that experience beyond the gallery walls, giving visitors an opportunity to hear directly from artists about how they approach printmaking, the techniques and ideas behind their work, and what continues to make this medium so compelling.

Whether experienced through monoprint, etching, relief, solar plate, or other contemporary processes, printmaking is a medium built on experimentation, transformation, and the unexpected. The September 15 conversation promises to offer insight into both the practical and conceptual dimensions of the artists' work.
