Description
This is our best workshop for those new to adventure who not only want to learn the basics, but who want to explore group process and debriefing techniques more deeply. More time is spent immersing oneself in this process, and technical skills are covered, but with less time for mastery. Participants will: - Be able to use adventure as a transformational tool for group and individual development and group counseling. - Participate in and learn techniques for goal setting. - Learn basic facilitation skills for ground, low and high challenge course activities. - Learn sequencing, processing and debriefing techniques to enhance outcomes. - Learn the Standard Operating Procedures (safety guidelines) for low and high challenge course elements and care of essential gear. - Learn and practice basic knot tying and belay skills for high elements. - Be able to implement an effective program using portable games and initiatives, low and high elements. Workshop Information: - Prices for workshops taking place at our Beverly, MA site include a required lunch cost. - Number of days: 4 - Workshop hours: 8:30am-5:00pm - Graduate credit: 2 or 4 - CEUs: 4.0
