Marine Outboard Technician/Mechanic

Cape Ann Marina, north of Boston in Gloucester MA, is looking to hire marine technicians, mechanics and apprentices.  Technicians inspect, assess, maintain, recommend, make repairs and install new motors, equipment and electronics.  Depending on skills, experience, and willingness to learn from others we are looking to grow our team.  We have all sorts of boats that we work on, however the bulk of the repairs are outboards. REQUIREMENTS AND EXPECTATIONS:
· understanding … to strong experience in gas and/or diesel engines
· Technical school or certification experience
· 1-2 and 5+ years’ experience
· ABYC and/or manufacturer certifications preferred
· Willing to follow work orders, take instruction and follow procedures
· Ability to ascend and descend a ladder
· Must carry own tools
· Ability to work in confined spaces
· Ability to lift 50 pounds
· A friendly attitude and demeanor
· A team player and supporter
· Strong attention to detail
· Confident in skill set, willingness to help and train others
· Strong analytical skills
· Communicates effectively

PLUS:
- Must like boats!
· Have attended any Yamaha or Suzuki trainings/certifications
- Other boating and repair skills for boating equipment
- Knowledge of parts, inventory, POS based program. “Dockmaster” Software preferred, not required
