Office Support - Part time

Join the Local Ace Team! 
We are looking for a dynamic part-time Office Support person to assist the busy bookkeeping office serving Smith Ace Hardware & Lumber, Hometown Ace Hardware and Crackerjacks/Whistlestop Market. This position is located at Smith Ace Hardware & Lumber, 3 Station Square, Rockport, MA and reports to the Office Manager. 
 
The right candidate will have top-notch cash handling skills, be able to pass a math assessment test, be adept at general office support duties including: preparing reports, keeping office neat and clean, and filing.

Office Support Duties and Responsibilities:
 
Banking: Prepare daily cash sheets, Set daily cash drawers, Prepare daily deposits, Bring deposits to bank daily,  Prepare daily coin order.
 
Accounts Receivable: Open all payment envelopes, Prepare payments for entry. 
 
Monthly Billing: Prepare for billing by replenishing supplies needed, Assist with printing of statements, Assist with folding, stuffing, sealing and posting statements, Deliver bills to post office, Track supplies and place order to replenish as needed, Check + replenish postage meter monthly. 

General Office Support: Answer + direct incoming phone calls, Greet + direct customers, Keep office clean; sweep floors, empty shredder, facilitate recycling disposal, Keep printers stocked with paper, Keep forms + applications stocked at multiple locations, Keep supplies neat + orderly, Track + order supplies as needed, Pick up, sort and distribute daily mail, Retrieve mail from internal mailboxes, General filing and Other tasks assigned by Office Manager. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
•   Valid Driver’s License required.
•   Math assessment required.
•   Works well independently with limited supervision. 
•   Acute attention to detail.
•   Trustworthy, friendly and levelheaded personality.
•   Strong organizational skills. 
•   Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•   Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
•   Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
 
SPECIFICATIONS: 
•   Hours are part-time M-F, 10-15 hours per week.
•   Office work environment for retail business with daily trips to local bank and post office.
