Description
About the Event
Join local historian and photographer Charlie Seavey as he takes us through a presentation of the maritime history of Gloucester and Cape Ann, based largely on photography from various sources, including some public domain. Charlie will revisit local schooner races, men at sea, harbors, vessels, and other nautical stories.
About Charlie Seavey:
Charley the son of a Maine boatbuilder, and a lifelong photography geek, including a stint in the Air Force as a photo interpreter. A Rockport resident, he has deep ties with the state despite a 50-year walkabout after graduating from UMass in 1967. He’s been a research associate at the Essex Ship Building Museum since 2018, concentrating on their photography collection.
