DESCRIPTION:Welcome Yule\, A Midwinter Celebration will be presented Friday\, December 21\, 8:00 PM at MAGMA\, 11 Pleasant Street\, Gloucester\, Massachusetts.\n\n \n\nThe two-hour program of live music\, songs\, dances and stories draw on folk traditions\, myth and contemporary works. The performers combine seasoned professionals with enthusiastic community members. Opportunities for audience participation are woven throughout the evening.\n\n \n\nThis year's theme is "finding hope in the dark times" and features a re-telling of the legend of Pandora's Box.\n\n \n\nArtistic Director\, Rose Sheehan of Gloucester\, has been producing Welcome Yule in various communities since 1985. Says Sheehan\, "We create a midwinter journey. It begins in the fading light of the waning year\, moves through the darkness of the longest night\, then bursts triumphantly into the dawn of the new year. Along the way there is merriment\, contemplation and renewal."
