SUMMARY:Mary Gauthier at Old Sloop Coffeehouse with Zak Trojano
DESCRIPTION:Old Sloop Coffeehouse is proud to present a concert featuring Mary Gauthier Saturday\, October 21\, at 7:30 PM at the handicap-accessible First Congregational Church of Rockport\, 12 School St.\n\nMary Gauthier's songs are painfully personal\, yet they somehow infiltrate the souls of her listeners\, no matter how different the paths they've followed through their lives. Though she lives not far from the hit-making mills of Nashville's Music Row\, she admits to knowing nothing about how to write on command. She says\, "I have to be called to write. The call comes from somewhere I don't understand\, but I know it when I hear it."\n\n\n\nZak Trojano is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist\, a finger-style guitar player and a fly-fisherman. In over a decade writing\, recording\, and performing music professionally - sharing studios and stages with his band Rusty Belle\, or supporting touring acts like Chris Smither\, Kris Delmhorst\, Jeffrey Foucault\, and Peter Mulvey - Zak Trojano has evolved his own thing: a warm baritone paired with an old Martin guitar.\n\n\n\nCoffee\, tea\, and a variety of delicious (and very popular) home-made baked pie and cake will be sold before and after the concert and at intermission
