DESCRIPTION:This presentation by John D. Clemson is based on research and field observation of the historic School Street Neighborhood during 2024-2025\, funded by the Town of Manchester with a matching Survey and Planning Grant from the MA Historical Commission. The survey used MA Historical Commission methodology to record and document 113 buildings and other cultural resources within the neighborhood. Discussion will include selected buildings that were recorded for this project\, including their architecture\, histories and historic context within the broader history of Manchester and the North Shore region of Boston. John has over 30 years of experience in historic preservation\, researching and documenting historic buildings and their social history since earning an M.A. from Boston University's Preservation Studies Program in 1991. Light refreshments begin at 6\, presentation begins 6:30.
