Learn how Lane rose from modest beginnings in the pre-Civil War era to worldwide recognition as a marine painter and why\, even today\, numerous artists journey to Cape Ann to find inspiration in its light and beauty. \n\n\n\nStroll with a CAM Docent for about 1 1/2 hours as you loop around downtown Gloucester. Please note that some sidewalks on the tour are rugged and uneven and not all fit the width of wheelchairs or walkers.\n\n\n\nWhere to Meet?\n\nThough the Downtown Campus is currently closed for renovations until the spring of 2026\, the tour will gather at the courtyard attached to the Museum on 27 Pleasant Street.
