The Don Gorvett Studio and Gallery is located at the Beacon Marine Basin\, overlooking Gloucester Harbor. \n\nThe workshop will cover block design\, tool & press usage\, and relief printing techniques. We will also discuss color theory as an integral part of the process. Art history\, woodcut printing in the twentieth century\, and selections from Don's classical music collection will be part of the conversation throughout the courses. The goal is for participants to understand the intricacies of relief block printing and create an edition of ten prints.\n\nWorkshops are limited to six participants\, and we welcome all skill levels. We supply the woodblock\, oil-based relief ink\, some paper\, and studio carving tools. Please bring a sketchbook for drawing and note-taking\, drawing implements\, and paper towels for clean-up. You are welcome to bring your own carving tools\, or new toolsets are available for purchase\; studio carving tools are available during the workshop.\n\nFall workshop time and dates are Thursday afternoons\, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.\, Sept 12\, 19\, 26\, Oct 3\, 10\, 17\, 24\, Nov 7\, 14.
