SUMMARY:Essex Small Business Person of the Year 2019
DESCRIPTION:Congratulations to Michele French\, of BankGloucester\, Essex Branch\,\n\nour 2019 Essex Small Business Person of the Year!\n\nJoin us to celebrate Michele!\n\nMichele French\n\nRaised in Ipswich\, graduated from Ipswich High School in 1985.\n\nMet Michael French in 1984 and married him in 1987. We have been married for 31 years.\n\nI starting my banking career in 1989 as a part time teller at the Ipswich Cooperative Bank\, I moved to the First National Bank of Ipswich in 1990\, for a full time position as a teller in their Essex Branch. I learned many aspects of banking through out my 25 years at First National Bank of Ipswich. I started as a teller\, moved up to Head teller\, Assistant Branch Manager\, Branch Manager. Then in 1997\, I got the opportunity to manager the Bookkeeping Division and worked in the back office for two years. That was a great learning experience for my career\, making sense of how every transaction works start to finish and has made a difference of how I manage my staff even today. I realized that I was NOT a back office person are really needed to be out with people and helping them with their banking needs. In 1999\, I moved back to the Essex branch where I became the Branch Operations Supervisor. In 2014 I got the best opportunity from BankGloucester\, I became the Branch Manager of their first branch. \n\nPast Boards\, Committees\, and Extra Activities:\n\nMr. & Mrs. Woodman Scholarship Board\n\nPedal to End Cancer Fundraising\n\nSarah Lufkin/Jimmy Fund Walk Fundraising\n\nCurrent Boards\, Committees\, and Extra Activities:\n\nCape Ann Chamber Board 2016 through 2018\n\n	Co-Chair Auction Committee\n	Membership Committee\n	Essex Division Chairman\n\nEssex Council on Aging Chairman of the Board starting in 2016\n\n\n	Town of Essex Strategic Planning Committee\n	Town of Essex Housing Coalition\n\nLight Up Essex Committee\n\nEssex Merchants Group\n\nEssex Manchester Rotarian
