DESCRIPTION:EVERY THURSDAY\,   FEBRUARY 2\, 2017 — FEBRUARY 16\, 2017\nParticipants will brush up on their drawing skills in this three session drawing workshop with visual artist Gabrielle Barzaghi. Drawing from still life and in the galleries\, you will practice basic drawing skills such as visual measuring\, line\, value\, composition and perspective. The class structure will remain flexible to allow for each individual's drawing ability.\n\nGabrielle Barzaghi is a visual artist. She is a former Senior Lecturer in Art and Design at Suffolk University. She lives in Gloucester and is represented by Trident Gallery.\nWorkshop Schedule:\nSession One will meet in the activity room. Basic observational drawing techniques will be covered by showing examples\, demonstration\, and practice.\nSession Two will involve drawing in the galleries from sculptural forms focusing on structural line\, value\, and volume. \nSession Three will include compositional analysis and the study and copying of a masterwork in the Museum's collection.\n\nCAM will provide materials:\n1 HB graphite pencil\n1 Ebony pencil (graphite)\n1 Kneaded eraser\n1 pencil sharpener\n1 Strathmore 400 series 24 sheet drawing pad\, 11 x 14\n\nThis program is $85 CAM members/ $100 non-members. LOCATION:Cape Ann Museum\, Gloucester\, MA 01930 The Museum is located in the heart of downtown Gloucester\, one block north from Main Street and one short block east of City Hall and the Sawyer Free Library. Metered parking is available in the public lot across from the Museum. Gloucester is also easily accessible by public transportation on the MBTA commuter rail\, which connects Cape Ann directly with the greater Boston area and beyond. From Boston's North Station\, take the Newburyport/Rockport line to the Gloucester stop\; the Museum is a short walk (0.4 miles) from the train station.
