The public is welcome to explore the island\, which is part of the Crane Wildlife Refuge and is home to a variety of animals\, plants\, and centuries of human history to discover. This island is also the site of the Choate family homestead\, the Proctor Barn\, the White Cottage\, and the final resting place of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Crane. Enjoy spectacular views\, guided walks and talks\, hands-on activities\, historic buildings\, and a kids scavenger hunt. Bring the whole family!  Choose the guided option to learn about the history and ecology of the Island with our CraneOutdoors guides\, or self-guided to explore on your own. Boat transportation will be provided to and from Choate Island from the Crane Beach parking lot.
