SUMMARY:Brooks Williams - Matt Rich and Gil Clark open
DESCRIPTION:Statesboro\, Georgia-born\, Cambridge\, England-based guitarist singer and songwriter Brooks Williams will return to the Old Sloop Presents performing arts series Saturday\, November 1. Local rising stars Matt Rich and Gil Clark will open the show.\n\nBrooks Williams is one of those select few ''how on earth does he do it?" artists. He can sing. He can write. And\, man oh man\, can he play guitar. A leading light on the roots acoustic music scene\, Brooks Williams has over 33 recordings and has appeared at countless venues and festivals for over three decades. From Celtic Connections to Cropredy\, Glastonbury to Philadelphia\, Kerrville to Winnipeg\, Costa del Folk to Shrewsbury\, there are very few stages Brooks Williams hasn't played. He moves effortlessly between country\, blues and folk. WUMB-FM Boston names Williams one of their Top 100 All-Time Artists and he's listed in the Top 100 Acoustic Guitarists. American Root UK says he is "One of the most consistently excellent musicians in roots music."\n\nRich and Clark are members of the bands Northwest Fox and Backshore 500. Singer-songwriter-guitarist Matt Rich holds down the weekly Wednesday evening seat at the Rhumb Line that was long held by Fly Amero. Singer and guitarist Gil Clark toured North America with the Celtic music and dance troupe Celtic Angels and indie-folk band Avenhart.\n\nVisit https://oldslooppresents.org/performance/brooks-williams-2025 for more information or to buy tickets
