SUMMARY:A St. Patrick's Day Celtic Sojourn
DESCRIPTION:GBH's A St. Patrick's Day Celtic Sojourn with Brian O'Donovan is making its return virtually this year! Since 2004\, Brian O'Donovan has delighted audiences with a series of light-hearted and lively concerts dedicated to exploring the various connections of Irish music and culture around the world\, and have featured internationally-acclaimed artists from both sides of the Atlantic. But as the pandemic continues\, and as with so many long-established traditions around the world\, A St. Patrick's Day Celtic Sojourn will be in a virtual format.\n\n \n\nAs always\, O'Donovan will be the host and will be introducing the artists\, chatting about their lives\, reciting some of his favorite poetry\, and inviting you to raise your voices in a few special and virtual sing-alongs.\n\n \n\nBrian notes\, "These are tough times for all artists and support folks working in the arts. Essentially\, live music is on hold most concerts and performances are temporarily suspended. Our goal this March will be to create a truly unique experience for you\, and importantly\, for all of us together. The shows will be built especially for this unique year\, and in this unique style\, so we hope you can join us."\n\n \n\nCAST:\n\n \n\nKeith Murphy A long-time resident of Vermont\, Keith has deep musical roots in the Maritimes\, and has been Music Director for A St. Patrick's Day Celtic Sojourn since 2012.\n\n \n\nSinger Matthew Byrne will join us from his home in Newfoundland.\n\n \n\nNathan Gourley and Laura Feddersons are known for their great fiddle chops and particularly for their mastering of the old tradition of twin fiddling within Irish music.\n\n \n\nHanneke Cassel and Yann Falquet combine the music of Scotland\, Cape Breton\, and Quebec with a fresh new approach and a lot of originally composed tunes.\n\n \n\nJoey Abarta is one of the most admired uileann pipers in the world today.\n\n \n\nCiaran O'Maonaigh and Caitlin nic Gabhann have appeared in A St. Patrick's Day Celtic Sojourn in 2014 and have since married\, welcomed twins\, and moved to Co.
