Our goal this year is to inspire new synergies between greater Cape Ann's arts\, culture & business communities.\n\n\n\nThis unique Annual Celebration represents the visual and performing arts - music\, painting\, drama\, poetry\, and dance - from all our five communities. \n\n\n\nPLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS NO FORMAL SIT DOWN DINNER. HEAVY APPETIZERS WILL BE SERVED.\n\n\n\nLIVE PERFORMANCES\n\n \nCape Ann Big Band\, under the direction of Carlos Menezes Jr. will celebrate the start of their 2024 season with a performance at the Greater Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce?s 102nd Annual Celebration at the Shalin Liu Performance Center. This year?s program\, "Let's Swing Together!" will feature 12 vocalists ages 12 to 60 and a special performance by the BrassFed Nation's Youth Swing Orchestra! Audience members can expect a high energy program with a diverse repertoire that is full of surprises and will range from classics like Frank Sinatra's version of "Come Fly with Me" to a more contemporary arrangement of Van Halen's "Jump"! (See below for a list of musicians performing.)\n\n \n\nAbout the BrassFed Nation Youth Swing Orchestra:\n\nFormed in 2013\, the BrassFed Nation's Youth Swing Orchestra is a workshop-based program offered to student musicians ages 12 to 17 on Cape Ann. The mission is simple - get the youth swinging through collaborative music-making! The program offers various-sized ensembles with core values in the development of musical literacy and creative exploration. The ensemble featured at this event will be the 17-piece orchestra using a traditional big band set up with students from Gloucester\, Rockport\, and Manchester. The line-up and workshop offerings change seasonally and are open to students of the Greater Cape Ann region.\n\n\n\nSpoken Word: Luce Wren Brandt and Kaley Fantasia\n\nDancer Performances: Sarah Slifer Swift and Carey McKinley\, Movement Arts Gloucester MA (MAGMA)\n\nLanes Coven Theater Co: Lily Narbonne and Justin Genna\n\nLive Art: Loren Doucette\, Seven Suns Gallery. Finished artwork (pastel) \n\nto be sold via Silent Auction throughout the evening. Silent auction form in Lobby.
